Lutterworth Site Achieves ISO 45001:2018 Standard

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the ISO 45001:2018 audit at our Lutterworth site.

The ISO 45001:2018 is a global benchmark that outlines the criteria for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. It offers a structure for organisations to handle risks and enhance their OH&S outcomes.

Over a three-month period, starting in July, the site Operational Management team have demonstrated exceptional dedication and effort, producing substantial evidence to satisfy the audit team.

The key elements of the standard encompass leadership dedication, employee involvement, identifying hazards and assessing risks, adhering to legal and regulatory requirements, planning for emergencies, investigating incidents, and ongoing improvement. The recent audit highlighted several areas of good practice, including housekeeping, investment in technology, evidence of leadership and commitment, and effective risk mitigation.

Chris Coulson, Health and Safety Manager, expressed his gratitude: “In the short period of time the site has been part of the Howard Tenens group, a considerable amount of hard work and dedication by the whole team at Lutterworth has gone into preparing for and, achieving this ISO 45001:2018 standard.

This certification enables us to provide an even safer and healthier workplace by preventing work-related injury and ill health, achieving this standard also ensures we can proactively improve our Occupational Health and Safety Management (OH&SM) performance.

Because of the nature of the work we do here at Howard Tenens Logistics, it is critical that we demonstrate to current, and future customers, that we take OH&SM seriously and, by attaining this certification it fully demonstrates our commitment to this.

We remain devoted to continuous improvement, upholding the highest standards of quality, environmental sustainability, and occupational health and safety across our industry.

I’d like to thank all our colleagues at Lutterworth for their continued support throughout the whole process and congratulate everyone on attaining this achievement.  On a personal note, I would also like to thank both Mark Clements (site Health and Safety Manager) and Anthony Smith (Regional Health and Safety Manager), for their unwavering support and personal devotion to the success of this achievement – thank you both, and well done to all.”
