Long before the fight against fuel and war on waste began grabbing the headlines we were fully committed to operating in an environmentally friendly way. Our aim has always been to be a leader in sustainable logistics and we’re forever embracing new and innovative technologies that will help us exceed our own sustainability goals.
We’re proud to hold various industry accreditations which are underpinned by our environmental policy which reflects our ongoing commitment to finding new and original ways to save energy, reduce waste and add value in environmental performance.
Our Carbon Reduction Strategy:
Key environmental initiatives include:
- Early adopter of dual-fuel vehicles
- Trialling the UK’s first Scania 26-tonne rigid dedicated gas vehicle
- Switching to energy efficient LED lighting in our warehouses
- Generating green electricity through solar panels at seven of our sites, saving 200 tonnes of CO2 a year
Planet Mark Business Certification:
We are Planet Mark certified based on our 22-23 carbon emissions. These emissions are based on operations across the Howard Tenens group and do not include our tenants’ emissions.
