Our Truck Show Season Finishes On A High At Shepton Mallet

Our team wrapped up this year’s truck show season at Truckfest Shepton Mallet, bringing a memorable few months of shows to a close.

From strong winds and torrential rain to a heatwave and plenty of dust, the season has tested the team in just about every way possible. Through it all they welcomed thousands of visitors and picked up some well-deserved awards along the way.

Our best results yet at Newbury

The season began at Newbury, where strong winds unfortunately destroyed the team’s shelter. Despite the difficult conditions, they came away with four awards: two first places and two highly commended, their best results to date.

At Malvern, two of our vehicles were once again recognised as highly commended, adding another successful weekend to the season.

Creating memories at South Cerney

South Cerney brought a different challenge, with a heatwave and huge amounts of dust to contend with. Although the show does not hold vehicle awards, it produced one of the most memorable moments of the season.

Following the event, the team received a heart-warming email from two young truck fans who had enjoyed a brilliant day thanks to our team. It was a lovely reminder that these events are about far more than trophies.

For truck enthusiasts, families and children, the chance to see the vehicles up close, and even take a look inside a truck, can be a real highlight. Seeing visitors proudly carrying our merchandise and the smiles on children’s faces makes all the preparation worthwhile.

A wet but memorable finale

Torrential rain followed the team to the final show at Shepton Mallet, but it certainly did not dampen their spirits.

There were no vehicle awards at this event, but the team once again did an excellent job of representing us, meeting visitors and spending time with others from across the industry. They even unofficially won the truck pull event, a fitting way to finish the season!

Kristina Gough, Transport Manager, commented:

“A big thank you goes out to all of the supporting teams behind the scenes and most of all, a huge thank you to Chris, Andy and James. Thank you for giving up your weekends and weekday evenings to get the vehicles ready, look after them between shows and make sure everything is where it needs to be. Thank you for making everyone feel welcome, not just the Howard Tenens crews, but everyone who visits the shows. And thank you for the smiles, the enthusiasm and the ‘let’s do it’ attitude.”

The shows would not be possible without the time, effort and commitment of everyone involved. From preparing and caring for the vehicles to organising the events and welcoming visitors, a great deal of work goes on behind the scenes.

Most importantly, the team has helped bring people together through a shared passion for trucks, creating smiles and memories that we hope will last long after the show season has ended.
