Celebrating Our Microlise Finalist: Paul Moir
We are incredibly proud to announce that Paul Moir, based at our Pineham depot, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Microlise Extra Mile – Driver of the Year Award. This recognition is exceptionally well deserved. Paul has been a valued member of our team for over nine years, bringing an outstanding 32 years of driving experience to his role. Typically working as our evening shunter and operating Class 1 C+E vehicles, Paul plays a crucial part in ensuring smooth operations across Pineham.
A True Extra-Mile Driver
Paul’s role extends well beyond driving alone. His shift begins in the afternoon by supporting the office team, making sure the vehicles are to standard, ordering essential supplies, and maintaining a tidy and efficient workspace.
Career Journey
Since joining Howard Tenens, he has continued to grow professionally, achieving his Class 1 qualification in 2019. His knowledge, experience, and adaptability make him a core member of the Pineham operation.
Why Paul Stands Out
Paul has demonstrated remarkable commitment during key moments. During a major operational move, he supported the team at every step and even stepped in as Twilight Supervisor until a permanent appointment was made, ensuring continuity and stability during a critical period. When severe flooding threatened service, Paul acted quickly to maintain operations and protect customer relationships. He regularly mentors new and existing drivers, sharing important route and store knowledge that improves efficiency, confidence, and problem‑solving across the depot. Paul is exceptionally dependable, often going above and beyond for the business.
