Celebrating National Lorry Week

National Lorry Week 2023 was an incredible celebration of our drivers and transport teams at Howard Tenens Logistics. From driver appreciation to the vintage Morris truck roadshow, the week was filled with appreciation and fun.

One of the key highlights of the week was our site-wide Driver Appreciation Day. Our drivers were treated to packed lunches, fun games, and exciting prizes. It was a chance for us to show our immense gratitude for their continuous hard work to keep our operation running smoothly and delivering mutual value, every day.

The week also involved a blast from the past, as our vintage Morris Truck took center stage in our national roadshow. The vintage haulage truck visited several of our sites, allowing our team members to learn about the company’s roots and the Morris itself. Our truck show team were on hand to share details of their successful season with the Morris too! The truck served as a testament to Howard Tenens Logistics’ rich history and evolution over the years.

Throughout the week we provided a platform for some of our drivers to share their personal stories and experiences with “Me and my Lorry”. The features allowed us to gain insight into their journey into the world of logistics to their favourite aspects of working at Howard Tenens Logistics. These stories gave a face to the people behind the wheels that keep our supply chain going.

Our valued partners at Toolstation also joined in the festivities at our Daventry site. Jim Gowland, Head of Distribution at Toolstation, comments “Howard Tenens came to our Daventry distribution centre on Wednesday as part of National Lorry Week, to celebrate the vibrant road transport industry including the lorries, people and businesses who keep our counters stocked. Over the last thirteen years, our partnership has continued to grow, and Howard Tenens now supports us in delivering tens of thousands of cages of stock to our branch network. We look forward to their continued level of fantastic service in 2024 and beyond.”

National Lorry Week 2023 was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of our entire team and the support of our partners like Toolstation. It was a week filled with gratitude and the wider road transport industry. We extend our thanks to everyone who made the week a memorable one!
