Andreea Lordechescu
Warehouse Operator
How long have you worked in this industry?
I have worked as a warehouse operative at many warehouses, but for the past four years I have been based here in Ashby with Howard Tenens Logistics.
What does your job entail?
It involves picking and packing. The best thing about working here at Howard Tenens Logistics is that I get to do a variety of tasks every day and have the opportunity to work in different areas of the warehouse. I am proud to have gained a licence to drive a fork lift, something you don’t see a lot of women doing in this industry. This is just one example of how the logistics industry provides openings to everyone who wants to progress in a fast-moving environment.
How would you describe your working environment?
It’s really great. I work with many people from different countries, which makes it an interesting environment to work in. I’m proud of my job and the different opportunities that have been made available to me. One of these is being a ‘first-aider’ which enables me to look after my team members should anyone need medical help.
Would you recommend a career in logistics?
I really enjoy my job, which is important as you spend so much of your time at work. To anyone thinking of starting a career in logistics, I would say that’s a great idea. You learn a lot of skills that you can also apply elsewhere in life; and there are definitely opportunities to progress at Howard Tenens Logistics.
