What do you enjoy about your job?
There’s a bit of everything to do in my role and I love the variety, whether it’s raising purchase orders and invoices, making tea, through to providing workwear for the staff to wear. I have a lovely team to work with and we do a lot of organising and forward planning. We have a new project called the Employee Engagement Forum and I’m one of the Employee Engagement Champions.
What does your position as an Employee Engagement Champion entail?
It involves dealing and recognising - as a company - the positive elements within it and to build on these areas to further improve the welfare of everybody within the workplace. A great thing about working at Howard Tenens is that everybody has a voice and the company does its best tries to make sure everyone is happy.
Are there good job opportunities here?
I think this company is a really good starting point. I began from scratch and have got this far already with the help of the entire company. I couldn’t ask for more and, if you want to get on and have the drive, then this is the place to be.
Does the company have a good approach to diversity?
The benefit of working in a business such as Howard Tenens Logistics is that you develop a really good skillset and work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds. The diversity within this business is always a great thing to have. The company’s diversity policy works really well on a business level and a personal level as well.
