Howard Tenens History

Howard Tenens is a privately owned company that has been trading for over 50 years. During this time the company has been heavily involved in the automotive industry, with major clients such as Rover, Honda and also in food product distribution for companies such as Masterfoods, Interbrew, McDougalls/RHM, Bendicks’ of Mayfair and Kerrys Ingredients.
The company was first established in 1958 and became a plc in 1977. The company was taken over in 1982 by Epsley Tyas, to become part of their European wide group of companies. At this time in Howard Tenens’ development it was not only a logistics provider but was also involved in manufacture and sub-assembly for the automotive industry.
Peter Morris, the current owner and Chief Executive, undertook a management buy out in 1983. Since 1983 the company has gone from strength to strength with the acquisition of sites in Swindon, Sharpness, Andover, Aveley, Barking, Boston, Hull and Wellesbourne and outbases in Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds and Derby.
